Twitter seems to be the redheaded stepchild of the social media world. You can’t post robust information like Facebook or prettily filtered pictures like Instagram. I like to think of Twitter as the witty, misunderstood middle child who loves to inform in small bursts or banks on concise, emotional responses. With a capped character count, Twitter forces you to be creative and crisp – something none of its social media siblings can do.
Here are some tips to use Twitter to your advantage.
Join the Party
One of the easiest ways to get noticed on Twitter is to participate in trending hashtags and other discussions. Trending hashtags will appear on your homepage, giving you a heads-up to what is hot in the world and in your area.
Twitter users love interaction. Utilzing GIFS helps to convey a message that 140 characters can’t.
Tweet A LOT
Tweets have the lifespan of a fruit fly. That is to say they die within 20 minutes. Twitter operates more organically than Facebook on IG algorithms, meaning everyone’s feed is filled with A LOT of content. Try to tweet eight to 12 times daily to ensure you’re reaching different people at different times.
Wrote a killer blog post last week but want new folks to see it? Edit your post and throw it back into the ring. You can probably share the same content five times if you get creative with your posts. Always be sure to leave a link to your blog post in your tweet!
